WARRIORS
06.10.2023 to 17.11.2023 · RIOT 1394
A cast built for impact
Warriors brought RIOT 1394’s graphic universe into Mauer Gallery through an army of hybrid figures, monsters, armour, machines and improvised bodies. The images are dense and immediate, with humour, aggression and visual excess all operating at once.
The exhibition translated a street-born graphic language into a room without smoothing away its roughness. Strong outlines, spray textures, fluorescent colour and hand-drawn detail remained fully visible.

Warriors as visual collisions
RIOT 1394 builds figures by piling together different visual codes: fantasy armour, street graphics, comics, weapons, mutations and fragments of popular culture. The characters feel recognisable and impossible at the same time.
Close views reward the density of the drawing. Small symbols and absurd details sit inside much larger silhouettes, so the work can read instantly from a distance and remain active up close.
A graphic universe rather than a single image
Warriors works through accumulation. Each figure has its own logic, but together they form a larger population. Repetition, colour and recurring motifs make the exhibition feel like one expanding world.
The result is direct and physical: images designed to hit quickly, then keep revealing more detail the longer you stay with them.
