Animation Art

Mauer Gallery presents original animation art as physical artwork and cultural material. Cels, douga, genga, layouts and backgrounds are objects made during the production process itself.

Seen outside movement, they reveal line, paint, corrections, registration, notes and traces of work that usually disappear on screen. The CEL Ā VIE exhibitions place these objects in dialogue with contemporary and urban art while keeping the pleasure and immediacy that make animation culture so powerful.
