Maja Hürst / Mystika

Mystika presented a body of work by Maja Hürst, also known through her mural practice as TIKA. The exhibition moved between symbolic figures, animals, natural forms and psychologically charged compositions. Rather than illustrating a fixed mythology, the works build their own visual system through repetition, geometry, material and rhythm. The scale shifts from intimate paintings to the spatial confidence associated with mural work, but the same structural attention runs through both. At Mauer Gallery, Mystika created a more contemplative counterpoint to the louder parts of the programme without becoming detached from urban visual culture.
