Theodoro Autops / Paper Love

Paper Love presented Theodoro Autops through an intimate selection of drawings and painted works centred on his unmistakable graphic language. The exhibition brought the immediacy of urban drawing into a quieter gallery setting, where repeated figures, distorted bodies and direct gestures could be read slowly. Humour, affection and unease often occupy the same image. Familiar human behaviour becomes stranger through repetition, exaggeration and line. At Mauer Gallery the emphasis was on the hand and the making process itself: sketches, surfaces, marks and the physical act of painting. Paper Love was a concentrated encounter with a visual vocabulary that feels spontaneous while remaining sharply constructed.
