About Mauer
Built by artists, for artists
Mauer Gallery was created by Ben & Julia as a place where artists can show ambitious work with real attention around it. They know how difficult it can be to find a room, build an exhibition, reach an audience and feel genuinely supported through the process.
The gallery gives artists a space, a context and a team around the work. Curation, installation, communication, opening nights, sales and the human side of putting on a show are approached as one collaboration.
Mauer exists to keep artistic energy moving through Berlin and to make room for people whose work deserves to be seen.

Artists arrive through trust, instinct and strong work
Some exhibitions begin with an artist reaching out. Theodoro Autops contacted Mauer with the desire to show in Berlin. The connection with the work was immediate, and Paper Love grew from that first exchange.
Other relationships begin with an invitation. Ben & Julia had followed RIOT 1394 for years before approaching him. Warriors became an exhibition, then a friendship and further collaborations.
Maja Hürst, also known as TIKA, has been part of their Berlin story from the beginning. Mystika came from a long friendship, shared visual culture and years of mutual trust.
Selection stays close and personal
The programme is selective by design. Every exhibition needs a strong visual language, a clear point of view and work that can hold the room. Mauer chooses artists it genuinely believes in and builds each show through direct conversation.
For exhibitions in the curated programme, Mauer keeps a 20% gallery share on artist sales. The model is deliberately light so that the largest part of every sale goes directly to the artist.
The gallery contributes through curation, installation, communication, opening events, collector contact and the practical work that turns a body of work into an exhibition.

Artists, collectors and a wider public
Mauer wants more people to live with art, talk about art and feel comfortable walking into a gallery. First time buyers matter as much as experienced collectors. A strong gallery can be rigorous, generous and social at the same time.
The room acts as a meeting point between artists, neighbours, collectors and people who simply walked in because something caught their eye. Every sale helps an artist continue working. Every exhibition creates another reason for people to meet around images and ideas.
That is the mission: more art, more artists able to keep making it, and a gallery culture that feels open, alive and connected to the city around it.
